50 entries and 20 comments here for me. DW would add a few to the comment score...

As for broadband, well, Dursley doesn't exactly have the broadest, as our somewhat flakey participation n Zoom events has demonstrated. We use what we can get, and hope it improves with time. Hope yours improves, too...

However, you are actually getting on with your life, getting the house and garden done to suit and keeping up with your radio and choir work, so you have an excuse to post less.

Our internet shouldn't be flakey, but the account is in B's name and they won't deal with me. There has been a problem with the connection for literally years, steadily getting worse, and obviously outside (if there is wind or rain, byebye internet, TV and landline) but B has refused to do anything much about it. The only reason it has been done now is a random engineer came out and looked at it for some reason, and B called them up when the 'fix' didn't hold (it looks like it was something to do with the defunct line to next door). B even went as far as to buy me a mobile phone which I cannot use, just answer rather than deal with the main problem, and....

I'm off to go calm down a bit now (((hugs)))

Erf. Frustrating :(

I'm not sure how much I'd be getting done without A's drive, TBH. Two of the last three days I've not managed to get out of my PJs...

The point is we are friends and we support each other even when our life is a mess. The excuse used to be Harry Potter, but after years in here it's more about being each other "ears". Is it?

Thanks, Jane. I'm going to try to get back into good habits, because this is just about the only place I still connect with people ((hugs))

So sorry to hear internet is still frustrating.
Still, I think your point of being here is just being you, and when internet let you, being able to connect with us.

The internet has been live (apart from a few little glitches) since Christmas Eve. I've been able to read LJ/DW for the past month if it isnt under a cut, but now I just need to get back into the habit (and try to find content that isn't too cringeworthy).

This is just as well, as my middle child was home from Uni over Christmas and got a message that the classes are now virtual, and not to return unless necessary. As it is a computer based course, she will need decent access - I think I would have murdered someone if it hadn't been fixed!

Good luck with getting back into the habit, I hope you'll find posts you enjoy.

I'm still reading but I don't always have any comment to make. I think you might be assigning too much importance to the number of comments and likes.

I actually assign very little importance to them. I know what the reasons and excuses for this are, the figures are simply an indicator.

As I have had little chance to make many comments at all this last year, I'm hardly one to complain, and often there just isn't a need :)

Also still here - not commenting much either, or come to that posting much. I've been stuck inside, I think I've been out on 12 separate occasions (if you count going somewhere then coming back!), and posted 3 letters. Oo-er, missus.

I get where you are coming from - there needs to be some sort of external stimulus. I was getting out of the house about once a fortnight, and largely just with one or more of my family, for some shopping that couldn't be done online and a meal of some kind, and lockdown has succeeded to scupper that much :( It is doubly difficult with no transport and a wheelchair.

I have to admit to worrying about you when I don't see anything for a while. Keep safe1
