At work we sometimes have to play trails out for our local audience - both before/after the news and in random junctions throughout the day. Generally they're for one of our regional programmes or for local radio, or ahead of the Olympic Torch Relay we played ones advertising when it was coming to our patch. I imagine that I probably appear to be a crazy person a lot of the time when I'm working because things in the dictation or the paperwork remind me of songs and I'm often singing to myself in between dictations. (For example, any mention of "scar tissue" will set off that Red Hot Chili Peppers song in my head. And now yours. Sorry.)

I wonder what it would be like to have something filmed where I live. Even shows that are set near where I live are almost always filmed somewhere else. I had to laugh at the TV series of Fargo, which is set in Bemidji, MN, and filmed in Calgary, Alberta, which is about 2000 feet higher in elevation. But it's better than the Once Upon A Time flashbacks that were set in Hopkins, MN but filmed (like the rest of the show) in Vancouver.

I have to hand it to the series Deadwood, though (which I haven't actually seen but I did some YouTube research on it). In spite of filming in California, they actually managed to get some pine-covered mountains in the background. I was pleasantly surprised that they ( ... )
