Studying physics and contemplating student literature

Feb 27, 2009 00:34

Times like this is when I'm grateful that my physics book is actually well-written and thorough. I have been totally spaced out in physics the past few weeks, and thus what I have learned about magnetism and electromagnetic waves is highly sketchy. o.O; But! On account of having heard everything before at least, I am doing a good job filling in ( Read more... )

I'm taking the algebra-based physics class in college. It's nice to get the ideas behind physics without all the math that makes my head hurt (or at least requires me to take calculus at the same time as physics with calculus). I think everyone in my class is going into some kind of medical-type field and the programs just want some kind of basic knowledge of physics so the advanced medical stuff makes sense.

Also, most literature classes I took didn't require the newest edition, so the books were pretty cheap. Biology books are the most expensive because the information really does change every year or two. The physics and math ones aren't terrible though. getting your folks to buy books is a great solution, if you can manage it.

Ooh, I was correct then, medicine students get to have non-calculus physics books! Say, what book do you have? Maybe yours is just a newer version of mine. =P (Giancoli, Physics: Principles with Applications, 5th Edition)

You should be able to get your parents to buy books for you, atleast your mom if she's related at all to my mom. Can't say anything about your dad since I've met him like once 10 years ago... :p

Apparently we have an open invitation to come visit you (according to your mom accordning to my mom), so my question is when do you leave for Scotland? :)

And I find it kind of funny that we talk with each other through ours blogs. I never know when you're acctually online since you're online all the time, but so am I and I'm away half of the time. Oh well :)

I'm here between 4pm-11pm Swedish time usually; that is, within earshot of the computer, but sometimes busy doing other stuff, like studying or hanging out with my sisters. =P

And you're welcome anytime, always! I leave for Scotland around the beginning of September (unsure of the exact date, but you should be back in school by the time I leave); before that we're spending a week or two in Singapore from middle of August (13th? ish?) forward, and I'm in the US all of June after I get out of school pretty much, so ... I'll be around July and beginning of August, the rest of them will be around in June as well. *nods* You better come visit, you never know when I'll be around at the same time as you next time!!!
