I eat when I'm angry.

I get angry a LOT, most often at myself because I think I've failed and I'm afraid of losing someone else's respect and affection.  I get mad at other people too, though.  I have very high standards and expect the people around me to agree with my standards and strive to meet them.  It's immature of me, and I work to remember ( Read more... )

You are an amazing person to be able to open up about all this and share it. I don't want to take anything away from your courage or de-motivate you in any way. But I gotta know. Which Entenmann's pastry?

Awareness is the first step, and, behavior change is a minimum of six months of getting it both right and wrong before right consistently is happening.. Very brave to write about this. Love Lydia

First off, mis-remembering a weight and stating it is a minimal mind bump. It happens. Your true friends will accept that, for the others, does it really matter? The important thing is that you made a commitment to lose weight and you did it!

As of today my official weight loss is 1/2 a pound. I could look at your 6 and be discouraged because I'm not keeping up and therefore I'm not doing as well as you. But you and I have different challenges.

Recognizing your challenges and coming up with strategies to deal with them is a huge part of the work. I'm so proud that you recognized it. Next time, you will have your strategies for dealing with it in place. So what happens if you slip up? Oh well, that makes you human. Congratulations and join the rest of us who aren't perfect and never will be.

Love you. So glad you are on this journey.

It's WAY easier for me to lose weight at my starting point than for you to lose weight at your starting point. Plus I didn't have any injuries preventing me from exercising. Thanks for the encouragement!
