Sorry this took so long. Laptop died...
1. How did you get into the SCA?
My best friend Stephanie introduced me to the SCA. My first real event was a GWW. I really had no idea what I was getting into but since it included two of my favourite things, camping and costumes, I was hooked!
2. How did you meet your husband?
Same BFF's husband is my husbands best friend. They introduced us. We had originally met when we were both in relationships. We apparently had our respective breakups about the same time and she mentioned she thought we would make a great couple. I remembered who he was and that he had a really good energy about him but knew it was too soon for me to date. Of course, as luck would have it that when I was ready he was in a relationship! We had a chance to hang out at Steph's bithday party that year and it reaffirmed my first impressions of him and I told her to let me know when he was single again. I asked him out as soon as he was. (Swooped in when he was all vulnerable and unsuspecting!) I knew within the first couple of weeks that he was the one for me!
3. What's your favourite era in history and why?
For some reason I have a fascination with the 1940's to early 60's. I love everything from the music of the era to the hair, makeup, and clothes. The political and social attitudes of the day fascinate and appall me. It's hard to believe how much things have changed in such a short amount of time.
4. What kind of hobbies do you have?
I love to go mundane camping and fishing. I love to read. I used to paint and sketch but haven't done anything in years but have been looking for something to inspire me to start again. I never know what to do with the artwork once I've finished it.... I also love to cook. Nothing fancy like our beloved Ysabella can produce, but comfort food like home made chili and cornbread, spaghetti, soups, beef stew, etc. I've recently tried my hand at crocheting and am horrible at it but hope to get better with practice.
5. What's an ideal night on the town for you?
I can't remember my last night out on the town...An ideal night out would be one where I could get all dolled up and go to a nice dinner. Afterwards taking in a show or just hanging out with friends. I'm equally happy curled up at home with a cocktail and a video or a really good book. I'm pretty low maintenance that way.
