So the EEEPC’s OS decided to take a dump and running sim-ple commands like ls and rm and top would segfault.

I have been meaning to reload it with a better linux distro anyways, the one that comes with the Asus EEEPC is pretty lame.

I've never heard of Crunch Bang Linux. Is it a full recode or based on something else?

It's debian based but stripped of most of the packages so the install size is like 200MB. My netbook is only 8GB and has pretty low specs to it runs a lot better than a standard debian install
