DEAR INTERNET: I didn't drink any coffee today and am a complete grouch.
I went to the Van Gogh art exhibit today and it was both exciting and somewhat disappointing.
EXCITING: Being in the same room as those paintings. I am exaggerating when I say I almost cried, but it was awesome nonetheless.
SOMEWHAT DISAPPOINTING: The crowd control was terrible. There were mothers with children and snobby bitches pushing everywhere and it was very difficult to appreciate the awesome when people were being general jerks and the museum was over crowded.
ALSO EXCITING: Holy crap I was in the same room as Vincent Van Gogh's paintings! :D The most amazing part was, they had his early sketches as well as later works, and we could see the improvements in his use of proportion, perspective and composition as we went through the different rooms.
My aunt and I turned the gallery into a drinking game (which we did not actually play but was amusing to make up as we go along). Take one shot whenever you see a piece involving plants, stars, bright yellow/green colours and sunflowers. That would've been like, 25 or 30 shots? My god.
Also I looted the gift shop and ended up with a mug, a print and a shirt. WHEE!
