so we saw Speed Racer today. damn, i liked that a lot more than i thought i would and it was *nothing* like i was expecting (i hadn't seen previews first or anything tho) frickin' *everybody* was in that! i liked it, i sure did :)

we also saw the next Narnia this weekend, which i also liked, despite whatshisface. yay swords! yay horses

i liked speed racer too. i think you're the only other person i've found so far who didn't hate it. it definitely takes a certain sense of humor and appreciation for kitsch, but there were some moments where it was pretty great.

definitely. i can easily see how lots of people would dismiss it, but i like my comicbook/cartoon-style movies to feel like comics and i could just see the panels lined up in the shots they chose. the faces Trixie makes and all the weird kalidescopic background stuff... oh, yeah, i liked it :) and there's at least one other person on my friends list who liked it, although i can't remember who, because i only went to see it off of their recomendation.

heh, now that i have looked into it the slightest of bits, it's by the dude who did Solaris, so now i know what's goin' on - all his films are like that - visually amazing and totally lacking in actual story, not that it matters since your'e supposed to be so entranced with the picture and the philosophy... *puts it in queue*

you should see Speed Racer - you might like it - if you have any appreciation at all of the animated stuff, you'll really like it. it's filmed in this oddly unique way and OMGcolor everywhere. i really did like it.
