i couldn't get past the 3rd episode of True Blood. I thought that was absolute and utter crap :) TVD is like, teen fluff cheese-fest, tho, so... if you like True Blood, i doubt you'll like TVD.
eh, i couldn't hang w/all the idiotic gratuitous sex. maybe that's because i didn't dig anyone who was having it, but still. i really can't think of one charcter that didn't annoy me pantsless ...and the "story" oh , man, i just wanted to hit myself in the face the whole time i was watching it. where does it get good? maybe i can just start there.
I still fast forward whenever Sookie/Bill do romantic things, because it's boring and long.
I'd say episode 9 or 10 is where things really pick up. I enjoyed the previous ones, but it's where a lot of the gratuitous sex dies down and more important plot things occur. I guess watch from there to the finale at episode 12 and see if it's enjoyable? I've been liking season 2 more than season 1.
I like a lot of the side main characters, though, which helps a lot. Lafayette is hilarious and awesome, Tara is sassy (though she has been getting dumb lately), Sam is interesting, Andy the detective has developed into an excellent character, along with Hoyt (the really tall guy with the controlling mother).
LOL. Sometimes I forget how wildly different our tastes can be, despite the occaisionally brain sharing thing. Oh yes, gratuitious sex, how terrible. Hee.
I do agree that the first, probably 3 episodes are a little more meh. I think I probably got into it more around 5-6? I mean, the last 4 episodes of season 1 and then almost all of season 2 are better, but if the absolute soapy craziness of it doesn't work for you, it doesn't, you know? I mean, I stuck with it despite the first 3 eps, so it may just not be for you. But whatever you do, stay AWAY from those books. You think the plot of the show is ridiculous? Oy. Imagine that x 2 PLUS the worst writitng ever. yikes.

And WHAT? You think True Blood is crap? I am.. so confused. And.. I totally dig on both that and VD, so it's possible to like both.
Buah.. really? I think you needed to stick with it a little longer, but hey, to each their own.
