I barely have any metal working things, beyond an underpowered dremel and some hand tools. I need to steal shop space from Paula's dad or some of my blacksmith friends. At least http://www.framingconnectors.com/product/278 makes a coat of plates much easier, and probably lamellar (with some modification, though I'm not convinced I'd not be better served buying proper lamalle). At least 20 ga galvanized is equivalent to 18 ga standard so they're legal armor in every system I play.
Are you trying to get this all done by Christmas?ext_353925December 11 2010, 17:46:25 UTC
What caught my attention was your post had reference to Dagorhir, Belegarth, Amtgard and the SCA. You talk about making weapons that will work across Dagorhir, Belegarth, and Amtgard. I think that is cool!
I am trying to promote more cross game play with my new book about battle gaming.

No, if I'm lucky I'll get some warm garb done by then ><
I know of you from your postings on the various forums (especially Belegarth). It is less of a fuss to make legal weapons for all three than it might seem, with a few exceptions (flails come to mind). Congratulations on getting your book published! I will have to try to pick up a copy.

That's pretty much the next armor I want to make, after the gambeson. It looks pretty darned spiffy I think. Though mine will be blue with white trim.
