Just wanted to say I loved the Five Founders too! I discovered it after Secret Seven and Famous Five, but Fatty was (is?) quite a memorable character. I wish there was more of Enid Blyton. Sigh...

You don't eat waffles for breakfast in England?? That's just one of those bizarre little details I never even thought of! At least now I'll know to bring my waffle iron with me if I ever decide to move across the Atlantic! (So what do you give eachother at weddings if not waffle irons?)

And yay for Jo/Laurie fic! It's one of the worst mistakes in all of fiction that they didn't end up together, and we've got to remedy it however we can. :)

No, in fact we hardly ever eat waffles. Sometimes it's offered as a dessert with chocolate or toffee sauce and ice cream or sometimes instead of doughnuts at theme parks. I might have one waffle a year. The idea of it for breakfast is plain weird! We have cereal, fruit juice, toast and jam, tea and coffee...

And I totally agree with you about Jo and Laurie. I just keep coming back to how wonderful they are together. There can never be too much fanfic for them!

I do agree with you about Fatty. He's stuck with me for years in a way that no other Blyton character has. He's just so compelling!

And I must check out the Georgette Heyer fics on Yuletide. I've seen there are some but haven't read any.
