Well here is a sample of my work. I put in a picture of what the bride wanted. It doesn't quite look like Gwen's hair in the picture but she really didn't have enough hair to do it. We had to put some extensions on the bottom since her hair didn't extend that long either and it wasn't as dense. I'm waiting for her to send me a picture of her in ( Read more... )

Thanks!! :)

Her hair is so bleached out that it will naturally be able to hold curls easily. Just from looking at your picutres you would have to 'dirty' up your hair. If you want the same look then I would put Bumble and Bumble Grooming creme lightly through your hair. This helps the Bumble and Bumble Hair powder to stick which you also put 'lightly'. Then before you curl each section (I would either do a 1/2 curling iron or perm rods...which you should sit under a portable dryer...but I think you would get better results with a 1/2 curling iron) spray on some Bumble and Bumble 'Does it all' and also some after you curl the strand. I suggest pinning each curl after so that they cool in that shape and hold better. Then what I did was seperate the curls, teased it bit, re-curled the end and then sprayed with a super hair spray. Tri Aero Gel is a good one.

If you do it, post up a picture. I think you would be super sexy in it!!!

I use 'curl up' mixed with 'striaght' on my clients to get that curly look. I make sure I comb the products through and then recomb with a wider tooth comb (don't want the curls to look frizzy) and then i start twisting some pieces in the direction of the movement of the curl then diffuse it. I get to about 10% dry and warn them not to touch the hair. :).

I think most of the time, it's the amount of products put on the hair. It's all about how it's put on, how much and how is the hair styled.

As for the reason why some are wavy to straight it's most likely the length and density of your hair (which equates to wieght) The longer the hair and layers the more gravity on the curls.

I would experiment on the ratio of products you put on your hair...it sounds like a pain but I think that you will find the right balance. Also stlye holds better to second day hair or product dirty hair.

Her hair took a bit longer because I didn't have the comfort of the salon equipment. I had to hold a dryer over her head as not to bother the makeup artist when she was doing her work. Normally...about an hour and a half? This one took two and a half hours.

Thanks :)
