I know what you mean. I love the show but when I got the DVDs of Tcats, I watched them and cringed to a point at some parts and wondered "OMG, I can't believed I worshiped this show as a kid." I remember when I would rarely get picked up at school by my parents and got in the car to do shopping and worry if I would miss the show. Ah, how a child really learns to tell time..."It's almost my show, I need to get home"
Today's cartoons just don't compare to the cartoons of the 1980's. My kids are missing out on great stuff. I remember as a kid, there was no "cartoon network" we only had cartoons from 2:30pm till 4:30pm. Saturday cartoons didn't compare to the weekday shows like Tcats, He-Man, She-ra, Jem, etc. I hated Jem and tolerated She-ra but my lil sister loved those two shows.

ROFLMFAO!!! That's the gospel truth right there!
Thundercats was my alltime favorite! I remember as a very young child having as many toys as I could find. Mom could never find me the Sword of Omens.
...that show, coupled with King Arthur, is what gave me my love of heroes, warriors, and above all, swords.
I also loved He-Man and She-Ra. And I especially loved the rare episode that they were actually together...or was that simply for the very first one where He-Man rescued her and she came into her own...?
And you're right; I remember the first time I ever got to see Cartoon Network. It was like the most wonderful, yet foreign, concept: CARTOONS ALL THE TIME!! But it, too, has been corrupted with the passage of time. *sigh*

The last original thoughts died out in the 80s...
