I feed my plants caterpillars occasionally, in a sort of ironic justice. Eat my nasturtiums, well you? Well my plants will eat YOU. D:But yeah, I always feel bad because I do like caterpillars. I can't stand to kill anything- I still have troubles trying to slap mosquitos, I cringe when my father attacks flies. It makes no sense fo me to have ( Read more... )

When I saw the tag "extreme gardening" I simply HAD to see what it was about >.<
I'm not much of a gardener but it really piqued my interest.
I like the way you value animal life equal to a human's. Because the essence of genocides like the haulocaust and rawanda is DEHUMANIZING the other party. Esentially making their life equal to say, an animal's. If everyone was like you dehumanization would have no effect because hey, a dog's life is valuable too!

I hope I explained that properly...

I recently moved into an apparent on the first floor so consequently my house is full of ants. They attack my cerial and every morning I cringe thinking of the millions of ant-eggs I'm probably eating, I feel disgusted and a bit guilty at the same time. How dare I eat someone else's unborn babies?

I felt that "extreme gardening" was an apt description for the cultivation of carnivorous plants. After all, they do eat stuff. And you tend to wind up setting stuff on fire and spending a lot of time chasing insects in an attempt to make them happy. xD If I get lucky, I might eventually get to grow a sundew that can grow three or more feet tall. Small children, beware ( ... )

"and then I freak out more when I harm one and then have to kill it so it doesn't suffer."
I do the exact same thing...

Oh god that's a relief, I can now eat my ant-ridden food without regrets... -___-
