I need some help here... Without going into shit tons of detail, my son's father and I are not together.  He, however, is in the military.  Someone I know, who used to be a military wife, informed me that my son should be getting benefits from the military.  He gets insurance, and we get Child Support through the county, but I am being told that ( Read more... )

There is a website, va.gov I think, that can supply a lot of information. I used to have it bookmarked but my old computer stopped working. I'm sure it can help you figure what steps to take to get Sam what he deserves. the va phone number is 1-800-827-1000, that may help. If I can remember any other resources I'll get them to you as soon as possible. I hope this helps!

Oh hon ... as a military wife for the past 16 years, I can tell you that you should definitely be getting benefits such as medical and child support. Do you know Sam's father's unit? Sometimes, the easiest way to kick someone's pants into gear is to go to their commanding officer who can not only beat some sense into the jerk, but can then work with you on making sure your son gets the benefits he deserves. One good place to also check out is www.militaryonesource.mil which can show you how to go about getting the information you need.
