Can I keep Chuck? Pleeeaaase??

I'll keep him in my room always and never feed him after midnight. You won't even notice he's there! If for some reason he does turn into a gremlin, I'll chase him down and kick him out, promise!

Also, I'm looking for someone to accompany me on the piano, I want to play some Dvorak and it doesn't sound any good with ( Read more... )

...My friend is very talented at the piano. I could ask her, if you'd like?

Cool! That'd be nice, thanks.

It's just for fun, really, not a concert or anything serious.

'Course not, I'll just be the one talking then!

Memories are... it's what defines someone.

You get to remember who you used to be. And who you are now. And the events that made you that way.

Then, if you lose the bad memories, it's like throwing away the bad parts of you, right?

Yes, in a way.

But if you do that, you'd probably be incomplete. Bad as it may be, it's still yours, unfortunately.

What would you do?

For better or worse, Ma'am, memories makes us who we are. Good and bad, they shape the core of who we are and what we believe in.

So, if I don't like what the bad ones have made of me, it's okay to throw it away?

I can't really say what's best for you, little ma'am. Personally, I wouldn't get rid of my bad memories, because I learned from them the most.

If you're still in need a pianist, I'd be glad to accompany you.

You ask a complex question regarding memories. I dislike the sentimentality of the notion, but there is always something sweet in the bitter. That is, the painful situations through which you have lived have shaped you into what you are today. By forgetting that, you forget where you have come from and where you are going.

It's okay, I got one already. Thanks though! I would've asked you but most people from the Opera House seemed to be busy fussing over the kidnapped girl.

[Private]
True, but if the memory turned you into something bad, then isn't it good to lose it?

Very well then. The girl who was kidnapped--? Oh yes, of course. From what I've heard, she's been recovering well.

[Private]
It would seem so, superficially. But good and bad are more complex than that. How could one memory turn a person bad? Wouldn't it be an accumulation of events and memories?

That's good. Her boyfriend was very worried about her.

[Private]
Well... say something that turned you bitter.
