"A "Creator's block" sounds like something afflicting a divinity, but writer's block is my default setting. Its opposite is miraculous. The process of learning to write fiction, for me, was one of learning to almost continually be doing it *through* the block, in spite of the block, the block becoming the accustomed place from which to work. I don't get a lot of that whole-and-perfect myself.
I write from pain, and the wickedest tangent on my learning curve
was developing the knack for expressing pain without inflicting it on the reader.
I took to writing fiction because I'm not good with logical coherence.
I'm not so much concerned with telling readers how I feel,
or showing them, or getting them to understand it.
I only want to leave them feeling what I feel.
