I wasn't into Lyle/Tieria before, but writing this has really made me consider it...oh the possibilities, and all the convolutions of their relationship with the past and present and how every moment of Lyle for Tieria must be overlaid with moments of Neil...

K actually says it quite well in the comment below, but I'll explain too since I always like to go on about writing and these characters. When Lyle first sees Tieria, he's instantly fascinated by him. Tieria, however, rejects Lyle because of his memories of Neil. Lyle then begins to dream of dominating and abusing Tieria. He thinks that it's because he's angry and jealous at being rebuffed by Tieria for his brother, as well as his own foolishness at thinking that the reason Tieria called him by his real name was because Tieria felt something for him when it was the opposite. However, in the last dream, Lyle realises the reason for his fascination and anger with Tieria. There's always been rivalry between Neil and Lyle as siblings, so Tieria's rejection of him for Neil strikes an old nerve. But more importantly, when Lyle sees Tieria, who he is actually thinking of is Neil, so when the dream-Tieria behind the curtain says 'Lyle' he replies with 'Neil'. He wants Tieria not for

I really liked that final part of the dream where you have Lyle's thoughts and feelings of being the younger sibling who constantly feels a step behind, but then also the longing for his brother. Lovely.

I'm glad it touched you and same! Ohh, and that scene when Lyle was introduced to the crew of the Ptolemaios2, and how Sumeragi looked so sad and defeated and disappointed when she told that no, it wasn't Neil, it was his younger brother

Honestly, I haven't had a chance to think about the relationship between Neil and Lyle, because I've just watched the first 3 episodes of the new season, but there's definitely something interesting left behind the scenes. Poor Lyle haven't even heard of his brother in 4 years.. >__<

I find the dynamic between Lyle and Neil fascinating, but personally, I don't think the arms in ED would belong to Tieria. It wouldn't really suit the tone of the series, as well as being too predictable (or conventionally unpredictable). I think it's most likely to be a figure (lover?) from Lyle's past whose death is the main reason for his fighting.

I think I love Tiieria (and his relationship with Lockon) too much to not imagine him being behind the curtains, even though I don't think this anime will go anywhere near yaoi, it'll be very unusual at the very least if it does.
but we'll see ^_^

I, for one, would also be very happy. But no, I don't think Gundam is that kind of show despite the possible subtext
