so here in this post from yesterday I mentioned all that laundry to be done. I went to wal mart today because i pretty much tore through my cleaning supplies yesterday. I needed more trash bags, some pledge, some lemon scented floor cleaner, straight up bleach, color safe bleach etc ( Read more... )

Seriously try Zout. Having volunteered at a dog rescue, having three dogs of my own and being the kind of person who spills things just because I have found that zout will clean anything.

I have dropped grease on shirts. I spray the area, wash it, and it's all gone.

Truthfully, to me, if zout can't get it out, it ain't comin' out.

Stains? I use Dreft stain remover, or if it's grease/oil, straight up Dawn/Joy/Ajax dish soap. Works pretty decently for me.

I don't use fabric softener on my towels very often, as I've found that it tends to keep them from actually -absorbing- the water I'm trying to dry off, but I do soften a load here and there.

Our local laundromat quite often washes/dries/folds laundry for folks. Not sure how much it costs, but I've stopped in on occasion before when it was quiet, put my load in, and then went shopping real quick. Came back about an hour and a half later (didn't expect lines to be so long!!!), and she had moved them to the dryer, and then folded them. All she charged me was the coins for the dryer. I was super shocked, but hey, it meant I didn't have to fold! (I don't mind doing laundry, but I hate hate hate folding. I have 2 hampers: Clean, which I pull clothes out of to wear, and Dirty, in which I throw my dirty clothes into. Wash my clothes, and dump them into the clean hamper, and start again. /o\)

I solved the folding problem. Unless it's the kind of thing that will wrinkle beyond wearability, (woven cotton skirts) I just do. not. fold.

this works in a way because as a rule, i do not buy things that would require ironing and folding.

For dresses, i hang them up. But that's like, the extent of post dryer care for my clothes.

I need to work on that.

Can I just say that reading this made me laugh a bit and go, "Now there's the Vamp I know!"? Ans I'm so glad to see you sticking your head out the door to say hi. I've missed the hell out of you, woman! *hugs*

Can't help with the bleach thing, tho I've used and liked Clorox 2.

Let's see. Piles. T-shirts. Jeans. Towels. Underwear and Socks. Work shirts and pants (for Mr Puppy).

If I've just stained a t-shirt, I'll hit it with Spray and Wash (or Shout, whichever bottle I've got), roll it up and throw it in the pile.

Towels - detergent only, no softener ever.

Underwear and socks - same. (Mr Puppy has issues with softener irritating his legs from his socks. Sometimes I'll vinegar rinse (winter, esp.) to make sure all the soap is out.) I use Oxyclean (1 scoop/load) with these because it really does make them cleaner (I'm a white-sock walker, too).

Lately Mr P has been working on a neighbor's truck and coming home covered in serious grease. I spread Goop or GoJo directly on the grease and roll them up. I try not to let that dry, though, and only wash incredibly dirty with them. I also - usually - have to wash them twice (2nd time with only detergent) to get the GoJo/Goop out. I have saved several pairs of pants and a Levi jacket from the trash thanks to this stuff.

That's all I can remember right now, lol.

cool thanks.

when i had seven motorcycles and two cars and was constantly playing with them, (working on them) I lived on orange gojo for all my cleaning needs.

I found that it was actually and awesome face scrub. Think about it. Natural citrus oils and pumice stone. My face never felt so soft and clean and it exfoliates like nobody's business.
