[silence for some time before the sound of someone taking a heavy breath]

You're wrong. I'm not--

I won't. I'm not a demon.

--already told you I don't need help.

[Squall is to all appearances griping to himself as he strides along at a brisk, determined clip, tracking the sounds of carnage.]

[Squall throws himself bodily out of the way of the fist as it comes down, once more knocked off balance by the shock of impact. He goes down on one knee, catching himself with a hand against the icy ground and lunging back up again almost immediately. His breath puffs steam into the unnaturally cold air.]

[This was getting boring, quickly. And the snow piling around him was starting to slow him down. He wasn't getting anything out of this. Hamel reached down to grab Squall and held onto him for a minute, as if wondering what to do. Then without a sound, throws him aside. This human wasn't worth the effort.]

[There's no chance for Squall to avoid Hamel's grasp this time. He manages to keep hold of his gunblade only to be pinned and immobile in Hamel's grip - and even then he bares his teeth in a snarl, glaring fiercely at Hamel in spite of the situation he's in.]

Damn it--

[He doesn't get the chance to say more. Hamel's strength sends him flying beyond the nearby buildings, crashing back to earth well out of sight with a force that knocks him unconscious.]

[He'll come around before long, but not soon enough - or in any condition - to come chasing Hamel down again.]
