Can any one confirm what time the 'cool' change came through? I'd also like to know at what time each community was hit. On the face of it and looking at google maps it's easy to believe that Flowerdale is really close to Kinglake. It isn't. It's 15km away. The Kinglake bushfires travelled approximately 30km in about 16 minutes. I'm trying to find the link for that, but not having a huge amount of luck (I keep reading things in the paper editions and being unable to find them online.) The approximate distances were travelling from the CBD to Dandenong in that time. Connex certainly can't manage it, that's for sure.

The cool change came through at different times for different locations. The CBD was about 5pm, where we were was about 5.30-6pm. Kinglake would have been a bit after that. The winds came prior to the change, at least where we were ( ... )
