Yesterday Naf took me to a record fair. I had never been to one before and so did not know what to expect, although the word fair led me to assume there would be at least one rollercoaster and a fairy floss machine. There was neither, but there was however fuck loads of records for sale. It was in some weird Russian hall in essendon and I had never seen so many music nazis in one room before. It took me a while to find anything but once I located the "garage, punk, metal and 70's rock" table I had no trouble. All the records I had ever dreamed about owning were at the fair and I was only working with 40 dollars so the process of choosing what to buy was heart breaking. In the end I bought:
MC5 - Kick Out The Jams (its live and its pretty much the most intense thing ever)
Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks (because like you would come home from a record fair without it)
And this Bob Dylan Song book i had been looking for like since I was born.
After getting back and listening to all our records Sean, Pauline, Naf, James, Stacey, Mikey, Joey, Adrian and I had dinner at the lucky coq... if you block out the crappy music and occasional fuckwit it is probably the best place to purchase food in Melbourne... Four bucks for a gourmet pizza that will fill you, they even have desert pizzas with like chocolate and other such toppings on them, its pity about the duke of Windsor though. Then we went to this park with the most spinny play equipment ever collected in one place. Full, drunk, stoned and dizzy is an awful combination.
ALSO Bitter Sweet Kicks have some gigs in the near future...
This Saturday (24th) at Boot Leg which should be pretty big, when they get around to putting the new poster up on the site ill post it here.
