The only reason I knew about the antibiotic thing so young is because it happened to my mom. This did not result in me (I was planned), but in my sibling who was never to be born. The combination of meds my mom was on (one being an antibiotic, after a foot surgery) caused her to become pregnant, and for the baby to die inside her before she even knew. This was very traumatic for both my parents & resulted in my dad's vacetomy. They had always wanted another baby, but I think it was mainly the trauma of losing one they never even had a chance to decide on made them decide against it.
Mike West has a friend who is a registered nurse get pregnant because she didn't know (!), and crowgrl13 didn't find out until she was 30. She writes that her gynecologist was shocked she didn't know, but where does she expect her to have learned it? If even people with medical training don't know, what hope is there for, say, the average teen girl?
If I hear the word "vajayjay" used because someone is embarassed to say "vagina" I may just proclaim "Jesus H. Vagina! It's just another part of your body!"
