Ground goes squish

Sea-Tac Airport saw nearly two inches of rain yesterday, which is a record! So wet and so many leaves on the ground making surfaces slippery, I asked Dear Friend H. and Mama J. to text me when they made it home from class last night; both obliged, very kindly. Yesterday was H. and W.'s 16th wedding anniversary - they are both so busy they will not ( Read more... )

Big blue eyes looking up at me saying "Hello? Ear scritches?"

I used proper dog-greeting etiquette and asked if they were open to scritches, but it was haaaaaaaaard.

Huskies are so beautiful. Those eyes! I miss my babies...I can't care for them so yhey are kenneled meanwhile and it's breaking my heart. I don't know when they'll come home given my total lack of autonomy.

Raining here as well. Finally.

Oh, darling! *gives you buckets full of virtual hugs* You've told me that the place where they're kenneled is wonderful, I'm sure they're being spoiled as they deserve.

A teeny bit of sun and blue sky is making its way through; steam was rising from the wood siding!

Huskies are so adorable and personable and such handfuls! (Not to mention So.Much.Sheddding.) But I always want one when I see one.

Two-inch rainfalls in a day... or a couple of hours... here are more or less a matter of course. We don't get those long, gentle rainy days that you do.

I have a Target card that I can use when I need something shipped (free shipping, woo hoo). Our Target store is just far enough away not to be a very convenient drive. We keep hoping they'll build a super Target (or whatever the big ones with groceries are called) on "our" side of town, but the last new entry was a Costco, so we really can't complain. It was a bit of a shock that Costco went in on the less-wealthy side of town, but no complaints!

Years ago, fufaraw coined the term "dust buffalo" in honor of the dwellers beneath the sofa. Huskies would require a new description, I think. (But puppies! So soft and curious and puppies!)

Hey, my order isn't here yet! *rolls eyes* At one point I thought about offering to drive to Federal Way and pick it up, which is rather further than Silverdale . . . .
