I graduated from my master's on Wednesday.  It was a lovely ceremony, but bittersweet.  The Husband was there, of course, and his parents came across to attend as well, but it was sad not to have any of my family there.  (The Mammy wanted to but felt it was too soon, which I agree with; The Daddy should have been there and it would have been far ( Read more... )

Congratulations! At least your husband's family was there, even if none of your own could attend - and I can only guess how hard it was for you, having them not there.

The hunger could be a reaction from all the stress you've been under lately.

It was a little strange, despite Ian being there. I love his parents, but it's not the same.

Congratulations. Yes, it's a shame your father didn't see your graduation, but he must have been so proud. And maybe he did see it?

Anyway, enjoy the junk food, and don't do *too* much ironing. There are times for self-indulgence

Thank you! I'd like to think he was toasting me in a heavenly bar somewhere.

Don't worry - I never do too much ironing. Barely enough, most of the time!
