The last three days have been kind of a blur. I've been to the orphanage (today the babies were especially messy while feeding because instead of feeding them Cerealax, this sweet, grits-type stuff, they were feeding them a conglomeration on peas, carrots, potatoes, etc. Not sweet, therefore they didn't like it, therefore it got everywhere!), been ( Read more... )

Nairobi is amazing on Sundays. It's so calm and peaceful, and it's so easy to meander along and enjoy the city without so much hustle and bustle and traffic. I took Denise with me to find the Intercontinental Hotel, where we were meeting Jodie (friend from church in Texas) for lunch! Thursday the kids were adorable at Happy Life. The older kids were all dressed up in blue uniforms, the girls in little blue-and-white checked dresses and buckle shoes, and the boys in gray shorts and blue sweaters and boots. Sunday I was definitely put to work at the orphanage. I washed dishes, mopped ALL the floors (really mostly just spreading soapy water around, but it does get rid of the dust for a few minutes!), fed babies, and hung laundry out on the line.
