I don't have too much to say about this one. I started out wanting to write a super!Charlie fic, but couldn't figure out how to get it angsty enough. So this popped into my head. I think I could have expanded on it a lot more, but I honestly didn't want to write a monster of a fic after what I just wrote and submitted to rounds_of_kink last week. But I am happy with what came out, especially the end, I think. Thanks donkeyloff for helping me out with that and suggesting that Charlie just leaves. ^^

Oh man. Poor Charlie. One blow after another. I felt so bad for Charlie when he realized that Amita had married Colby, and yet, somehow, I felt worse for Don when Charlie left. *sniffle*

I kept seeing shades of The Dead Zone as I read this, especially when it was Colby who married Amita; was that on purpose?

*claps* Exactly the reaction I was going for, actually. I felt ridiculously bad for Don too - I mean, think about it; he was there when Charlie woke. How many days did he devote over the last 4 years to sitting by Charlie's bedside, praying for a miracle?

Yes, exactly! For four years Don's taken care of Charlie, and then one day he just vanishes. He must be devastated. Especially since (I'm presuming) their father is dead, as well.

You've really never seen The Dead Zone?!!! See, first I thought you were gonna have Charlie suffer from amnesia, so when you did the coma, I was completely blindsided. But. Johnny, in TDZ, was in a coma for 6 years (Charlie for 4, but you even mentioned 6, so I thought it might be a reference). Johnny was engaged to Sarah (who was pregnant with Johnny's child when he was in the accident), who ended up marrying Walt while Johnny was in the coma, with Walt and Sarah raising Johnny' s son, who is named Johnny after his father. As the cherry on top, Walt was played by Chris Bruno. So I thought for SURE that this fic was an homage of sorts. So many similarities, I'm still reeling that they were all coincidences! *g*

Holy crap! No, I had no idea about *any* of that. I actually had to look up The Dead Zone earlier when you referenced it. >.<

Weird! I mean, really... weird. LOL. Accidental homage! XP

And yes, you presumed right about Alan. Or, at least, that's what my mind was thinking of when I wrote it. Perhaps, someday, Don will go after him even though he was asked not to? Or Charlie will come back...? *glares at the teh bunnies*
