Okay! This stemmed from a conversation that loozy was having over at her journal with emmademarais about holiday!fics. Charlie would have just been graduating from high school at the time of his Bar Mitzvah, if I remember the age specifications correctly, and about to go on to Princeton. Also, because of his severely math-orientated mind, we know from canon that he's not at all religious. That said, I can see Margaret sticking up for him regarding the rite of passage that his older brother went through, and Alan being very uncomfortable that his youngest son wasn't going to go through with it.

Thus, this drabble was born. Heh. I hope you like it! Feedback is, as always, very much so encouraged.

Hee! A commentversation turns into fic! I ♥ it!

I've heard people say Don for sure had a Bar Mitzvah and people say for sure he didn't. I need to find out what episode people think it was said in and rewatch it/read the SRT file to see for sure. I thought he didn't, but I can see that if he did and Charlie didn't want to that this conversation could have easily happened - logical lawyer Margaret standing up for her son's right to choose while traditionalist Alan wants to make sure his sons both get the same thing so Charlie won't later feel left out. An interesting conundrum.

Nice little fic there! :-)

Me likes it... I think the conversation is very well written and from what we know of Margaret is sounds like the thing she would so... :)

This is a beautiful fic...

Now, Charlie's pov on the matter :D *hinthint*

HEE! Stop giving me ideas! XP

Oh, and don't worry about 'only liking/reading fics with Don and/or Robin in them'... I understand completely. I'll read almost anything if Don is a central character, and when it comes to Charlie, it has to be certain pairings/situations/etc for me to really get interested.

Hey, AND you made me write GEN! LOL. Usually when someone hands me a bunny, it comes out with slash attached. Hehe.

Alright, I will think about doing a Charlie POV on this, although I know it would be rather angsty, so I'm hesitant to do so...

For now, however, I'm off to get some food! Dinnertime! <3

Enjoy the food! Bon appetit! Guten Appetit! Buon appetito etc...

How about a deal? I write Don- pov re Bar Mitzvah and you do Charlie? :D

Yay family!fic! Yay Margaret!

I love this. I could so see this happening.. Alan wanting Charlie to have a bar mitzvah not for any religious feeling but because he didn't want him to feel like he's missed something, and lawyer!Margaret standing up for her boy with logic.

*applauds*
