I am so excited for Time Machine I could squeal. It's perfect for thoughtless idiots like me who delete shit without thinking and don't realize "oh, I actually needed that" until long, long after.

Assuming certain financial puzzle-pieces fall into place the way they ought to, I'll be picking up a Macbook ASAP; it's not worth $150 (or whatever) to wait when I neeeeeeeeeeed a school computer.

Yeah Time Machine is super fucking rad. Typing in a search query in Address Book and having Time Machine go find it? That's something this dumb ass faux tech-savvy individual can get behind

Actually, the $150 is what I figure Leopard will about cost in the spring; when you get Leopard pre-installed you'll be saving it by not having to upgrade from Tiger, whereas I'll have to buy it separately.
I will be buying through the education store, saving about $100 that way, not that it's much considering I'll be throwing in an extra half-gig of RAM and another 40 GB HD space, plus expedited shipping and a case.
There's a year window after buying the computer when you can buy AppleCare, right? 'Cause I might not be able to afford that right away.
