Friday I will be uprooting my butt from the clutches of Los Angeles and heading up to the lower bay area. Beta camp week is upon us. Palo Alto, San Jose, Stanford, Mountain View, Santa, Clara, yes please! I love love lahv this area of California because it will forever remind of beautiful and rich things I don't have

Be very authoritative and direct. From the get-go, give the parents your syllabus with as much detail as possible on what will be covered and what is expected of the students. Explain that you have developed the now solid program over the past four years based on what you and your colleagues have had experience with. Explain how to get extra help if needed. Accept suggestions, but make it hard to fit any in :). Be very "understanding," but don't ever crack. This is how I live my life.
