[ AU ] Central City, Amestris, 1918
It had been several months since the Elric brothers had found themselves mysteriously awakened back home in Reizenbul. The whole thing had been a surprise to the both of them, and to the people of Amestris -- both were thought to be long gone after the War Between Worlds, and the closing of the Gate. If anyone noticed that Edward was a bit shorter than he had seemed before, no one said a word on the matter.
Edward had let his younger brother keep the red coat, and made for himself a similar one, in a forrest green color -- a bit of a reminder of the days spent under the green and gold of Moril's cart.
Eventually, their feet set them traveling. Winry wasn't happy to see them go, but she let them, knowing this time they'd be much more likely to return. The first stop was Central City -- Money was short, and with the wars at a minimum, Edward was looking to renew his certification as a state Alchemist. He headed towards the old headquarters, and Alphonse agreed to meet him at the Library later.
Wandering the streets of Central, hands gloved in white, and tucked into his pockets, Edward's thoughts wandered to beaches, and palm trees, sand, and stars...
