"Good morning," Susan calls back, taking that as sufficient greeting to approach.
"Susan Pevensie," she introduces herself. "Hazarding a guess... are you new in the area? And if so - welcome!" Usually people who've lived somewhere any length of time don't look at the world like this woman is, as if she's memorising each detail.
