Happy birthday dear Josephine!

My Morgan filly Josephine is one year old today. I never would have imagined buying a foal but I am so glad I did.

These photos were taken on Saturday when she was enjoying bouncing around in the snow. Filthy, furry, and butt-high, but man, she can MOVE.

Thanks. BTW, Josephine's dam had her new baby tonight, so they share a birthday. Another filly, either bay or buckskin.

They all go through thise stages where you are REALLY glad they are still growing and don't stay that way!

It looks like she is having a ball being a horse as it should be at this age. I recently picked up a yearling and am looking forward to working with her. I think you said Josephine is staying with the breeder until she is broke to ride? Or are you going to/have you brought her home sooner?

She's coming to me sometime later this year, though the breeder is in no hurry to see her leave. She will go back to the breeder to be started in a couple of years.

And yes, they are so gangly and sometimes look like someone reached into a box of spare parts to put them together! One week she can look gorgeous, and the next week she's the homeliest thing ever.

That is so true. It took Z until she was four to finally catch up with her butt. That thing got ahead and didn't give up it's lead!

I hope to hear how she does as she matures!
