At my first Les Vogt clinic a lot of us were worried about the cow working portion in the afternoon so he gathered us all around during lunch and told this story to ease our anxieties about embarrassing ourselves.
Les is probably the kindest and gentlest professional horseman I know, both to the horses and riders.
I stumbled on it looking up the "five easy pieces" exercises. The story really speaks volumes for him as a person and horseman and I'd love to get the chance to meet him.
Supposedly there is a Charles DeKunffy Southeast of Tucson in November too. Mr. Vogt will probably be around a bit longer than Mr. DeKunffy so I might have to make priorities for this year at least.
Now wouldn't that be nice to be able to do! I imagine I wouldn't have to bring my own horse in that case *grin.*
