Today marked yet another milestone for our HaflingerxBelgian filly Tru-D. This summer I acquired some more harness bits so I could advance her driving training without having to buy a full one before she has finished growing. She'll be three in April so she has close to a year to grow height wise and then another two to three to fully fill out.

I'd love to pick your brain about starting babies driving. I have a filly who is almost exactly a year younger than your than your girl, a Shire X Hanoverian and I'm considering sending her back to her breeder at some point to get driving training- but as I've done all her training myself at this point I feel weirdly proprietary about it. If possible I'd like to say that I did it ALL myself when she's a big brave successfully cross trained girl. I have a basic understanding of driving but lack the real hands on experience, so I'd be nervous to start her myself and mess it up.
My holigan this afternoon enjoying what's left of the green grass in her pasture.

I do plan on getting her under saddle too once she hits three next Spring. The long-term goals are: combined driving, dressage, trail riding/driving, and play with some jumping, competitive trail, and whatever else strikes our fancy.
I understand the feeling! I don't know of many people I would feel comfortable sending one of mine off to for training, especially since I can do most all of it myself at this point. Pick away!
She's cute too, sounds like a nice cross, definitely has a drafty hip on her.
