We're starting our portfolios in English, and I'm freaking out because I can't think of a creative topic for a fiction piece. Any ideas?

After I watch amazing movies I get on a movie-high and just have to be outside exclaiming to the world how amazing the movie I just watched was and noticing comparisons to it all over the place. It's great.

Wow! Directing Urinetown would be incredible! I hope you get to do it.

Even when you're writing fiction, write about something you know. Something personal-ish, if that makes sense. The trick to all good writing is that even if it is fiction, it's always at least semi-autobiographical. The line between fact and fiction when it comes to literature is very, very blurry. Hope that helps!
