I think it's stupid you have to be 21 to adopt a dog from the humane society. I want a dog, but can't get one from there until I'm 21.

Looked at the Kent County Animal Shelter amd Humane Society is minimim of 18 years old for adopting a dog or cat. What they both want is proof you can have a dog where you live. Lease approval or proof of home ownership. Is it possible that where you are looking is a private sancutary?
