Physiological Fact:

Your brain does not finish growing or maturing until the early to mid twenties. Period. This is why, during adolescence, depression is so severe and so prevalent. One of the lobes (not right or left, parietal and frontal and so on) is less developed than another and so there is imbalance. Coupled with the pressures of childhood lasting a great deal longer than it should, preventing teens from learning the proper coping methods and a decrease in physical activity and self-teaching, and you have a recipe for advanced depression.

My point is, that you almost definitely will get past it. Have you read my entries from last year? I was horribly depressed, but I stood back and looked at everything logically and I began teaching myself new skills and so I can cope with it. Does the predilection to depression go away? No, and it probably won't until early twenties. But it's a lot easier to deal with ( ... )
