The Last Week !

Well, as most of you know, the last performance of Equus in London is scheduled for June 9, 2007. If any of you attend this performance, I hope you will leave a review. And as you also know, Equus is coming to Broadway in June or July 2008 (just a year away!) with Radcliffe and Griffiths confirmed. This will be followed by an Australian production ( Read more... )

has the whole Equus Broadway thing been confirmed by Dan's people yet? I know they haven't flat out denied it, but I've sort of been waiting with baited breath to see it confirmed.

Well, it's been confirmed that he's been offered the transfer. The fact that they haven't said no and are not denying it is a strong indication that they're in negotiations and it's a matter of when, not if, they will announce it. For my money, they are waiting until after Dan's 18th birthday for him to even sign the contract due to the nudity issue. I'm pretty sure there's a legality issue having someone underage sign a contract that includes nudity, even if they'll be of age by the time the project happens. We'll most likely hear something very shortly after his bday.

That makes so much sense - I feel like an idiot for not thinking of it myself!!!

The fact that it's been printed in Playbill was enough to convince me. What ciel_vert says about Dan waiting until his 18th birthday to sign the contract makes a lot of sense to me, too. Also, he could still be in contract negotiations; the fact that the show's been so popular gives him leverage to hold out for a lot of cash. But I do feel optimistic that it will happen.

I'm really glad you took the time to make this comm. It was such a great help when I was planning my trip. I'd love to help mod the Broadway comm. :)

Thanks! I'm so glad it was a help to you, and that you enjoyed your trip. And thanks for letting us know how to get Dan's autograph. :) I will add you as mod when I figure out whether to change the name of this comm or transition to the new one. This show is going to be incredible on Broadway! I can't wait to see the production.

I still can't believe I had the opportunity to see Daniel in Equus. It was one of the greatest night I ever had in my life and meet him after the show was absolutely trilling. I wish him all the best for his debut on Broadway and who knows...maybe I will be there too. Never say never ^^
Oh! And thank you very much anthimaeria for this comm, it was great help for my trip (in particular for the ticket issue) and fun in general. I will definitely join the Broadway comm ^^

You're so lucky you got the chance to meet him! And I hope you'll come to see the Broadway show - there's always lots of flights to NY.

I'm really glad this comm was helpful to you... I'm thinking I may just roll this one over to the Broadway comm, if LJ lets me. It's really fun being part of all this fan activity.

Excellent idea!

If I'm ever so lucky to get the chance to go to NYC and see this amazing play, I'm definitely making this comm my first stop. I hope what you believe is true anthimaeria and ceil vert and that an announcement about it is coming soon.

I can't believe that in 6 days his London run will be over. Time really flew I bet for him.

The time has definitely flown by! This was a really short run by U.S. standards. I hope you'll be able to make it to NYC. Even though Dan's people haven't yet made a formal announcement, the fact that this rumor has been confirmed in reputable publications like Playbill makes me think it's really going to happen.

I gotta say this has flown by AMAZINGLY quickly! This has been an awesome way to meet up with people on LJ for me in general too, and would never have met them if it wasn't for them coming to see Equus.

I just wish i'd got those questions for you ;)

You are so right.

It only seems five minutes ago that I was ordering my ticket back in October.

I never would have dreamt that I would have met so many fantastic people through Equus either.

I wasn't even going to get a ticket, I thought the play would be a bit 'heavy' for me, but i was talking to some of the members on nc17 and the excitement was infectious.

I just booked a ticket on a whim when they first came out. I am SO glad I did now though. By final night I will have seen it 3 times and loved every second.

It really has been a pleasure and a privilege to witness and share in the experience of Daniel's first stage outing. When we are old and grey and Dan is collecting his Oscar or his Olivier award, we can sit and think, we were there when it all started.
