Does anyone know of any reliable isp's in Worcester? Charter sucks balls lately and Verizon dsl was bad here as well. We're looking into getting a T1, but I'm not sure if that's possible for a residential neighborhood.

Who did you get it through? We're looking at One Communications.

Is Verizons FiOS available? It shoots shiny digital cocks straight into your NIC.

It's nearby, but not here yet. We're on their notify list.

Verizon DSL was bad in terms of price/service or were you just too far from the office to get a good link?

If it's price/service, you could check for other DSL companies here. I've had good luck with both Speakeasy and AceDsl in Worcester in the past.

If DSL is a no-go because of distance to the office, then it's really cable modem or nothing. FiOS would work, but I'm pretty sure they're still not in Worcester. A T1 may be possible, but is going to cost an arm and a leg.

We were told it was noise/static on the older phone lines in the area that made DSL so wonky here. It would go down for a few minutes an hour, or would just generally be sluggish. T1's run about 300 a month, we found someone who'd do it, we're just deciding if it's worth it or not.
