Maybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways
To make it alone
Keep a straight face
And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable, distance
And up until now
I had sworn to myself that I'm
Content with loneliness
Because none of it was ever worth the risk
Well, You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
"What's the problem this time?" It was a muffled voice, which sounded slightly irritated but would have been completely indifferent to other ears. Other ears, but she knew a bit more about him now.
She waited by the door, hesitating for a moment before stepping into the room. She gently closed the door behind her, making sure not to make more noise as to irritate him further.
Haruka Ozawa stood in front of the door, before taking small steps that led her into the middle of the room. The Film Research Club, which wasn't really a club at all but just a way to get the room all for himself, which Haruka grudgingly admitted was a smart idea but deceiving nonetheless.
The room was almost empty, only a small table and three chairs in front of a couch. There were shelves aligning the walls, and boxes and other items not used were scattered there. There was a mirror on the wall, that he would use to scam people out of their money, by pretending to see what care they held when it was just a simple trick. But no one had found out about the trick, no one but her.
He wasn't a very sociable guy, actually. It was his eye that made him an "outcast". He had told her that people either say his eye has something horrible and unnatural or as an asset for themselves. She had felt guilty after hearing that, of course she was mixed in with the latter category. However, when she voiced her thoughts, he had shot them down saying she was, once again, the only person who saw it differently.
She had merely told him that she thought his eye was beautiful, because the moment she saw it she was entranced and her thoughts were clouded by how unique it was. The eye was very unique, and that could either mean it was amazing or something horrific. But she saw the uniqueness as beauty, and could only say it was so.
His eye way truly something to see and it was beyond normality, but that didn't mean people had to outcast him for that. She didn't see why people didn't accept him, granted he is grumpy and his humour is a bit blunt but overlooking all of that, he's a good guy at heart.
"Are you just going to stand there and gaze at me or are you actually here for something?"
Haruka jumped up, a bit startled. Yakumo had been huddled up on his couch but he was now sitting up and looking straight at her. He had been watching her stare at him with a dazed look, before choosing to knock her out of her trance.
She pouted slightly at him, and said "I can leave if you want." If she was bugging him then she would just go, she had woken him up after all ... he might not want to talk to her right now.
Haruka quickly said her farewell and backed out of the room as Yakumo merely watched her.
He yawned and shook his head, before getting off the couch and manoeuvring out of the room to see the girl just few feet away from him. He decided she was either walking really slowly or contemplating going back into the room. He yawned yet again, his sleeping habits were very crazed but he didn't mind.
"You can come in, I didn't say you had to leave. I was just asking what you wanted." He walked back to the room and went to the mini fridge, before grabbing a water bottle.
Haruka smiled at him, he was nice. "I didn't want anything today. I just thought that you might want some company. It's a weekend and ..." Haruka trailed off as Yakumo was staring at her straight in the eye. It was not exactly comfortable because he was looking at her like she was an alien but she shrugged off her insecurities and waited for his response.
Yakumo just kept looking at her. This was one of the few times someone who he wasn't related to had come to him for company, it didn't happen often. It was either to use his eye, or when he scammed people. Not ever for leisure though, not very often.
She really was the only exception.
