the first time i competed, i had no instruction at all. on anything we did.

last year i competed. i probably came in last place on most things, but i'm pretty sure i had more fun than anyone else too. you should do it. you can wear my coif and i have an extra hauberk in my car (you don't have to wear these the whole time, just the obstacle course). it is some of the most fun ever.

but if you don't want to compete then you can always do each event when the competitors have finished. that would give you a chance to do them before you are in competition.
