Life is a maze. We're in it ever since we were born. At the end is the source of vitality that drives us to live on, and we strive ever to reach it. With every decision we make, every choice, every path we take, we are trying to reach the light at the end of the maze. Until we can understand it ourselves, our parents guide us through. You see, they've been trying to go through the maze for their whole life, too. Sometimes they lead us right, sometimes they lead us wrong, but mostly, they lead us the way they think is right, or warn us not to go the way they know is wrong. We take their advice or ignore it, but eventually we're on our own. We pick up where our mothers and fathers left off and make our own way through the maze. Sometimes we get closer to the end, sometimes we end up even deeper in the maze. There are wrong turns and dead ends aplenty, and there seems to be no end to them. Along our way, we cross paths with others trapped in the same maze. Every once in a while, these people join you in your journey for a time. Very rarely indeed will you meet someone with whom you will travel through the maze until either it ends or you do. Nobody has ever reached the end before, (if there really is an end) or if they have, they didn't go back to tell anybody how to get there. So we are resigned to be lost forever to this maze, and we will never reach the end in this lifetime. There's really nothing we can do about it. But still, we have to keep moving on, even when it's a struggle just to put one foot in front of the other. After all, what kind of life is a life without purpose? To give our lives purpose, we continue to strive to reach the end of the maze. Life is a journey. Where are you going?
