To all Katrina victims:

Words cannot express how utterly devastated I feel right now.

Nor how aggravated.

The federal government is doing nothing, nothing, to help New Orleans, save for saying, "We'll be there ( Read more... )

Shows how much you know about the Hurricane problem. The Federal Goverment is trying it's best to be there, and it's doing it's best to get people reloacted to cities in Texas, Oklahoma, and other surrounding states, as well as bring food for the surviors there ( ... )

HOLY CRAP. IT TOOK THEM FOUR DAYS TO GET ANY SORT OF HELP DOWN THERE EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW AHEAD OF TIME IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. How would YOU act after four days standing outside, injured, with abosolutely NO FOOD OR CLEAN WATER? There's a little something called primal instincts that starts to kick in after a few days without food, water or shelter. They aren't idiots. They're just trying to survive with all their rational thought process gone.

Bush should've started pulling out of Iraq when he knew that a major hurricane was going to occur. And if not pull out completely he should've taken at least half. They've said at least five times that there would be busses and helicopters at specific times and there was NOTHING for FOUR DAYS. Would you like to drink Ocean water with piss, feces, and decaying bodies in it?

How can you praise the government if they're trying harder to save people of a different country and leaving AMERICANS TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES?

You want proof that Bush is a fuckhead you say?

Darkside didn't say Bush was a genius. It was noted that the national government screws up royaly sometimes, but I think it needs to be recognized that Bush isn't the singular person to set the blame on this for. I really hate how people are so OMFGANTI-BUSH that they can't seem to examine any facets of a story beyond that fact that our president may not be the most well-spoken man in the office, ever. Everyone makes mistaked, and frankly, I've got to give the guy some credit. He gets into office and someone flies planes into the Twin Towers. Fantastic welcoming.

But, beyond my un-anti-ness for Bush (really, I couldn't care less that he's president. While I don't support him, I'm not going to blast him for making some mistakes). There are people in Louisiana that WERE in Iraq. Even so, no one could have possibly prepared for the devestation that occured in Louisiana and Mississippi. There were levees ment to protect places such as New Orleans, so many people stayed in their houses despite the mandatory evacuation, the local ( ... )
