My therapsist said, while trying to cure me of my terrible sence of pressure to succeed, that there was little point because there would always be someone out there who was better at it than me. That is such a shit thing to tell someone, and completely false (unless you give up the whole ideal of someone being "the best" in a certain field). You have to have total confidence in yourself and just go for it.

Eh, you should have said something. Or not, but hey... It's not very useful advice, but hey - if you have come to the conclusion you're a failure, I doubt I'm eloquent enough to change your mind- instead, I offer the suggestion that there are worse things to be. If you're at peace with who you are, then damn the rest of the world and all its ideas. Hey, look at me - I've been a career failure since before my GCSEs, but I can still RP with my friends. Doesn't that thought make you feel kind of warm and fuzzy? No? Eh, guess I suck then...
