I went to the second showing of Nerdcore Rising at the Alamo Drafthouse last night. Of course, Nerdcore rap is still a young genre, so-- who knows where it will go?

I got to meet MC Frontalot (who is tied for "favorite rapper" with Wheelie Cyberman of Optimus Rhyme), and he autographed my slide rule after setting the B and K scales to 1/pi-- so you have to align the slipstick to actually see the autograph.

I also met Big Poppa E, a tremendously kick-ass poet who not only writes well, but who can deliver well at a poetry slam. Look him up on Google; there's a video of him doing a poem called "Propers", and I think it should be required reading/viewing for all high school kids. I just sort of picked him out of the crowd of SXSW organizers and people, and I think that it sort of made his day to be recognized by a fan. He gave me a copy of his book, and was kind enough to autograph it for me
