Today when I was doing the laundry, the two year old wanted to help, which means, of course, that it takes three times as long to do the laundry as it would if he didn't help. I found that article extremely interesting. It's hard to move away from the patriarchal way of doing things, to not assume that it is the only or best way.

Thank you very much for this post & the link! I am, indeed, an obsolete do-it-myself geek (figured out my first computerized phototypesetting machine, without a manual, in 1981) who sometimes wonders if I can learn the 'modern stuff' so this is extremely interesting to me!

Glad to hear you are interested. I just think many women have a different way of approaching technology, and we shouldn't assume different means inferior.
