Some food for the mind...(more about plagiarism).

Katie-Maude on FictionPress.com has written a very informative piece on plagiarism. No, it's not a rant like mine was. Rather, it's an intellectual piece that explains the misconceptions of plagiarism and clearly illustrates many of the rules and consequences of plagiarizing.

I believe it's a must-read for readers and writers alike, so please do ( Read more... )

Hey you beat me to it! =) I was going to post a link to the same essay too, once Katie-Maude okays it.
Anyway. Sorry if I sound stalker-ish, but I'm one of those silent readers on FP who recently just discovered your stories, and I just wanted to drop by and say that I really enjoyed reading them (esp Devil Take It All Rewrite). Your one-shots too; the plots are always interesting, amusing and of course, romantic. Which makes for a totally fun read. So yeah. I really, really like your reading (hint: looking forward to the next update) and I sincerely hope that you don't get plagiarised or anything, because it would majorly suck if all the good authors left FP (though I really can't and don't blame them for doing so to protect their works).

P.S. Sorry for that bit of incoherent rambling there, I think my brain's shutting down from lack of sleep. So I'm gonna stop now and try to redeem myself by saying that I'm normally pretty sane. And don't worry, I'm not really a stalker. Just a fan trying to show appreciation (I'm not too comfortable with using FP these few days, which explains why I'm posting here instead). =)

I don't think Katie-Maude minds if you LINK and not copy-paste the rest of it...but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

I'm glad you broke your silence and followed me over here to tell me you like my work! Reviews are always great to receive - especially if they're positive! *glows with happiness*

Your hint came across LOUD and clear. *flexes hands to start typing* I will try for another BYC update this week and maybe one or two DTIA Rewrite chapters too.

Right now I'm not too worried about being plagiarized. For one thing, I don't think my work is as great as some of those author's who were hit. (And no, I'm not trying to be modest!) And for another, I won't be taking my work off unless something VERY drastic happens (like...umm...I don't know).

And your rambling made perfect sense. So either we're both crazy, or we're both awesome. Since you gave me a great comment, you're awesome...which makes me awesome as well.

Okay, that TOTALLY didn't make any logical sense.

*shuts up and leaves*

Yeah, given how quickly Hurricane P is sweeping through FP I'd say better safe than sorry too. In any case, Katie-Maude replied with a really nice email and the go-ahead, so I'll get around to posting it later.

Lol I guess hinting works. -starts throwing confetti into the air- So I'll be looking forward to updates soon, yes? =P Kidding kidding. You've got to have a life outside FP too, so do go out and enjoy the summer sun with your fiance! =) Just don't forget about us readers haha. Honestly speaking I think your writing's great; the style may be a little rough at times, but I think you more than make up for it with the awesome plots. Yay!

So what if both of us seem crazy? You know what they say, sanity's overrated anyway. So we shall be crazily awesome friends who can understand each other's rambling. =D

Have a great day ahead!
