Calling all challenges!

Aug 10, 2009 18:00

To be completely honest, I think I'm becoming extremely lazy and slacking off...so I decided to turn to my readers (or random LJ stalkers...whatever) for help. I think what I need to get me back into frantic writing are challenges that'll make me think and, well, generally be challenging.

I don't know where to start, or what kind of guidelines to ( Read more... )

1. New Jersey public bathroom/highway rest stop. (haha, too perfect to pass up)

2. i. parrot
ii. business cards
iii. the color purple
iv. college pre-finals party weekend
v. matchsticks

(yes, I'm over a month late, but I figured it's never too late for prompts, right? Besides, this one was just too much fun to throw ideas out for.)

Rest stop...heh. Talk about random!

Okay, so I already have a vague idea how this is going to go...but it'll probably take me a little while to put it together and actually write it up.

And no, it's never too late for prompts!

Thanks for writing!

And here it is: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2724227/1/

Yes, that was fast...but like I said in the author's note, I'm sick and had nothing better to do so I wrote it up. I hope you like it, and I hope you stop by to tell me what you think.

I know this is rather late, but you said to the other person who left a message that it's never too late ;)

So..

Best (guy) friend's, sister's, boyfriend.. cause it makes it confusing.. even just typing it out lol...

1. peanut butter
2. a "give way" road sign
3. blood pressure
4. broken glass
5. a printer

Random I know.. haha but it's what you wanted.. Hope it's hard enough.. but not too hard :P

Also, can you use the quote, or a similar quote to, "Facebook me, I'll be sure to confirm"... I heard it today ina film and me and my friend were in hysterics :)

Anyway, good luck with it if you decide to use it ;D xx

p.s. I love your stories so much.. You acctually my favourite writer on fp!! ;P

Who areeeee youuuuu? I mean, I don't mind not knowing, but it would be great to have somebody to acknowledge if I can find a way to write this!

And the banana's in pajamas thing is...wow. Where'd you even come up with that? (You've been watching it haven't you? Hmm? Hmm?) I haven't even thought of that show in ages...I guess that's where YouTube comes in. :D

Where'd you get the facebook quote from? What movie?

I'm flattered I'm your favourite author on FP! *blush*

Okay...Romania...well at least it snows there so I can fit THAT bit in without too much trouble.

Now, to piece it all together...I have an idea in mind, but will it work? Hmm...

Voila! http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2728604/1/Solitude

Johnny Depp ended up being the hardest thing to fit in...argh! (And I was thinking of making the story medieval just because you seem to like that kind of stuff, but four of your prompt keywords are very VERY modern! Oops!)

I don't know if I've commented you often enough for you to know me (or if I remembered to sign in and not just log it as anon), but I'm foreverwasteaway on FP. You're one of my favourite authors on there. I love love LOVE iStare <3 I adore all your stories, but that one's my favourite. I just read your two most recent one-shots, and I think this is a great idea. Anyway, here's my challenge for you!

A bit cliche, but oh well...

Setting: At a university, school or college that neither of the main characters actually attends.

Five random things: Plastic cutlery, tattoo, vandalism, reference to Danny Tanner from Full House, a guy's necklace.

The characters are in a secret relationship. Alternatively, they could be exes, but their past relationship was and still is a secret.

I have an idea in mind that takes half your suggestions into account, but I'll have to figure out how to incorporate the rest before I start writing...give me a little time! ;)
