NaNoWriMo 2009!

Oct 13, 2009 21:32

I first heard of NaNoWriMo last year when everybody seemed to disappear at once from FictionPress. By the time I figured out what the hell had happened it was already too late for me to enroll...well, not too late, but I knew I would never be able to write something in that time-frame because (1) I think it was already into the third week and (2) I ( Read more... )

I think the fact that it's NaNoWriMo that you're participating in means you should write whatever you think will best suit you. If you got the plot, the characters, all of that, and it's something you're willing to spend the next month pumping out, go for it! I can't lie, I'll totally be writing a cliched high school story for nanowrimo as well. I think this month just sort of asks for it. The fantasy seems to be something you care about and spend time writing. Is that something you're willing to make be your guinea pig for a month where you're pulling out your hair to merely get that word count? Or do you want to continue cultivating it until the words just flow from you and you feel you're giving it your best?

I think that's what you have to ask yourself. Of course, you're far more talented than I am, so chances are, anything you write will end up being good, but nonetheless, you have to do what you feel comfortable doing.

(p.s. I added you on nanowrimo - I'm emma729 over there.)

Thanks for that insight! You're right, the fantasy is something I'm currently babying and I don't want to hate it by forcing myself to write it.

And I just realized that I've never really done a proper high school cliché before. I mean, yeah, I had 'Complications' and a bunch of one-shots that were set in a high school, but I never really went into depth for 'Complications' and the one-shots were too short to even TRY going deep.

Thanks for getting me excited again...haha...and a definitely thanks for that huge compliment! :)

(P.S. I add you back! I can't wait...*bounces in chair*)

Oh man, I always wanted to do NaNoWriMo but I'm a horrid procrastinator I'd probably fail.

Cliche's are fun to write about. As long as you enjoy what you're writing it should be great. Good luck by the way :)
I'm excited to read it.

Thanks for the luck - I'll be needing it because I'm a serious procrastinator as well! (During exams I used to go on YouTube and find videos about procrastination...oh dear. Fail.)

...

um, bad example

i mean. okay never mind I'm just going to go and add you, if I didn't alredy

That was a funny example, even though you didn't finish the thought. (Although my parents would probably freak out if I were making babies right now...seeing as how I'm not married yet.)

I think you already added me, and I think I added you back. Are you ready to start writing, writing, writing?
